Welcome to South Lyon First United Methodist Church online.  Thanks for visiting us!

Our logo tells who we are: 

​

First, we are united.  In a time when people are often polarized, we want to be a place where people come together – to love God and each other. Everyone is welcome. 

​

Second, we are Methodist. We are proud of the Wesleyan approach to religion that combines personal devotion and social justice.  God changes us so we can change the world. 

​

Third, we are a church, a community of believers who worship, study, and serve together. We provide classes, groups and mission opportunities for people of all ages to grow in faith. 

​

Fourth, we serve South Lyon.  Neighborhood youth play at our basketball hoops.  We host many community groups such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Boy & Girl Scouts, the Capernaum Health Clinic, and T.O.P.S. (Take Pounds Off Sensibly).  We offer free summer lunches and space for the South Lyon Co-op Preschool.

Last, the cross in the logo shows our unity in Jesus Christ.  The redflame symbolizes the power of the Holy Spirit that inspires us and propels us into the world.   Join us as we worship and serve our community in the name of Jesus Christ.
